FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Caregivers

GRANDPARENTS MORNING TEA

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest gratitude to the school staff for assisting with the Grandparents' Morning Tea. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Mrs Bronwyn White, who singlehandedly prepared all the enticing treats served on the day. Mrs White is currently on leave but was willing to help out by sharing her culinary skills. Our choir performed beautifully, once again, thanks to the leadership of Mrs Amanda McCabe & Mrs Jacinta Mariani.  The atmosphere was filled with warmth, joy and a sense of togetherness.  From the meticulous planning to the seamless execution, the efforts of our Liwara staff and students were truly commendable and made the event a memorable experience for everyone involved.  Thank you to our special guests who have sent in words of thanks and gratitude!

PRE PRIMARY NATIVITY PERFORMANCE

Once again I am in awe of the amazing performance put on by our Pre Primary students with their special version of The Nativity.   The talent, dedication and sheer hard work exhibited by all the performers and the PP staff was nothing short of exceptional.  This concert was not just a display of acting prowess but also a celebration of creativity, unity, and the spirit of our community.  Congratulations to everyone involved for your extraordinary contributions.  Next week the PP students and staff will be heading to St John of God in Subiaco for their annual visit where they will entertain and delight all the clients, even those bed bound, via a video link from the chapel where the performance will be held.  I am fortunate to be going along as  this will be  their final performance for the year.

ANNUAL COMMUNITY MEETING

Date:  Thursday, 30 November
Time:  6.00pm

2024 MEDICAL ACTION PLANS

Just a gentle reminder, if you child has a medical condition of any description it is time to have your plan reviewed by your family doctor.  The school requires a copy of the plan prior to your child commencing in 2024. We are required to have a new plan every 12 months.

There are the standard plans for Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Allergies etc.  If your child does not fall into one of these categories you can download a copy of the schools Medical Action Plan from our website.  All plans need to be signed off by your doctor.

If you child requires medication to be taken at school, this includes - Asthma Puffers, ADHD medication, etc which is prescribed by your doctor it needs to be given to the front office in the original packaging which shows the child's name, doctor's name & the dosage.

Medications that are not prescription medicines, require parents to complete a Medication Authority Form which is available from the front office.

If you are unsure of your requirements, please contact the front office on 6224 2000

CANTEEN NEWS

Well the final countdown is now on for the last two weeks of term. We are still needing two parents to help on the last day of school Friday, 8 December please. Your help would be very much appreciated.

The last week of school may see some changes to the menu and food items available on a particular day, as we will need to reduce our stock for the Christmas break.  This means your favourite meal may be added to a different day as an additional item.  We will have a few exciting additional extras for recess also.

As a matter of interest, we have sold so far this year, over 500 macaroni cheese, 800 spaghetti bolognaise meals, 1750 milks, and 460 Sushi's.    I can’t imagine how many toasted sandwiches we have made, but it would be a very high amount.

Enjoy your last two weeks of Term, our best wishes go out to the Year 6 students who will start their next school journey, a big thank you to my Friday lunchtime helpers, I couldn’t manage without you.

Have a relaxing, safe and wonderful Christmas and holiday.

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

NEXT YOUTH GROUP

Last week at 24:7 Greenwood we had a great night of games, music and fun. We also had the Liwara School Fair on Friday where, as a youth group, we ran a carnival games stall. We started our night with a game of Octopus before moving onto our second game for the night which was Spoons. To finish off our night, we had some time of prayer using a few different bible passages to help us enter into the time of reflection.

NON-YOUTH GROUP ACTIVITIES

The Youth Group helped out at the Liwara School Fair on Friday November 10th by running the kiddie carnival stall

NEXT YOUTH GROUP

This week's youth group will be a night to test us all and keep us on our toes as we have our end of year quiz night.

God bless,
