Prayer for End of Term
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right:
to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us,
to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities;
give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
Amen

Dear Parents and Caregivers
As this is our final newsletter for Term 3 it will be a wrap up of another successful term. I want to take a moment to celebrate our students and staff, while also sharing information about our school’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
TO OUR STUDENTS
Your enthusiasm, creativity and commitment in class, on the playground and during all specialist area lessons have been truly inspiring. You have shown great resilience, teamwork, and a passion for learning that makes our school community shine. We are so proud of each and every one of you.
TO OUR STAFF
Your unwavering support, guidance, and dedication have been pivotal in shaping this term’s successes. The care and energy you invest in nurturing our students are invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.
Together, we have had a remarkable term full of growth, achievements, and unforgettable moments. Thank you for making our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE - School Open Day a Resounding Success
Our recent Formal Assembly & Open Day on Thursday 5 September was a truly special occasion as we opened our doors to the community to celebrate all the incredible work and achievements of our school over the past 50 years. The event was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school’s rich history, vibrant community, and the exceptional talents of our students and staff.
A special ceremony marked the occasion, with speeches from past and present members of our school community, who shared their memories and reflections on what makes our school so unique. The atmosphere was filled with pride and nostalgia as we honoured our legacy and looked forward to an exciting future.
Visitors enjoyed a variety of displays and presentations highlighting the school’s journey, from its humble beginnings to the thriving educational institution it is today. Classrooms were filled with student projects and artwork, demonstrating the creativity and hard work that define our school. Guided and self-guided tours, performances, and interactive activities provided a glimpse into the daily life of our school and the innovative teaching methods we employ.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to this milestone event. Your support and involvement are what make our school the wonderful place it is. Here’s to the next 50 years of learning, growth, and community!
A JOYFUL AFTERNOON WITH THE MUCKY DUCK BUSH BAND
After the formal event our school hall came alive with music, laughter, and dancing where our students, families and friends gathered for an afternoon of fun with the lively bush band. The hall was filled with the sounds of traditional Australian music, and everyone had a fantastic time kicking up their heels! The energy on the dance floor was infectious as everyone joined in for a true Aussie celebration. The bush band kept the rhythm going all afternoon, playing tunes that got everyone moving and grooving.
The positive feedback from our guests was overwhelming, with many praising the warm atmosphere, the exceptional student involvement, and the wonderful historical displays that showcased our school’s journey over the past five decades. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day unforgettable!

Early Years Athletics Carnival
Our junior students in Kindy and Pre-Primary will participate in an Early Years Sports Carnival on Tuesday, 17 September on our school oval. The carnival will run from 9:00am through to approximately 10:15am. Please apply suncream to your child before school and send a full water bottle.
Students in Kindy have been allocated a faction which has been shared via Seesaw. Parents are welcome to dress up in their child’s faction colour if they wish.
Students will begin the day with a fun run and then participate in games and activities in a rotation, tabloid sports manner on the day. Parents will be invited to compete in a ‘just for fun’ toddler race with any younger siblings too. The focus of the day will be participation, sportsmanship and fun. We look forward to seeing you at the carnival.

CLASSROOM NEWS -LANGUAGES
Term 3 has been a fun-filled term of learning in the Italian classroom. Students from K-6 have explored a variety of topics including, Le Stagioni (The Seasons), La Mia Giornata (My Day) and Io (Me)! Through engaging hands-on activities, they have mastered how to talk about their favourite season, what they do during the day, and how to describe themselves. A special highlight of the term was the Thursday lunchtime Briscola tournament, where students got to practice their Italian skills while enjoying this classic Italian card game. It has been a fun and interactive way to bring language learning to life!

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
YOUTH GROUP REPORT
Last week at 24:7 Greenwood we had an awesome night of games and fun. We started our night with card games and some dodgeball before moving into our games for the night. Our first game of the night was a new game for us, followed by a blindfolded obstacle course in pairs which tested our trust and teamwork.
We then moved into our talk for the night where we heard from the amazing Eilidh. She shared with us about looking to our future and how when entrust our future to God we can start to see amazing things happening in our lives.
NEXT YOUTH GROUP
Next week we will be having our Confirmation Party for the newly Confirmed Year 6s! This will be a great opportunity to celebrate with them as well as introducing them to the youth group in a fun and welcoming way to celebrate receiving this amazing Sacrament with them as well. Please see flyer attached for more details.
