A Simple Prayer

Lord in Heaven,
I surrender myself to your love.
Your mercy is my safe haven.
I believe in your healing touch.
Through Jesus Christ I ask for you to mend my weakened body,
I pray that you reawaken my spirits, beaten by affliction.
I lay my body and soul;
And trust in your goodness.
You are my saviour, my healer, my God.
I live for your saving grace.

Amen

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Swimming Carnival: Congratulations to all students and staff on a fantastic and successful swimming carnival!  The shared enthusiasm, energy and teamwork make it truly special and we are so proud of each and every student who participated.  A big thank you to Mr Sanders for such a smooth, fun and eventful day.  To our parents who volunteered their time to help out – we truly appreciate your support.  Well done, everyone.

LADS Camping Event: A huge thank you to our incredible LADS for organising such a fantastic family camping event! Your hard work and dedication make events like this a truly memorable experience for everyone.  From all accounts there was lots of laughs and adventures, a weekend to remember.  We appreciate all the effort that went into making it such a success!

Kindy & PP Health Screening:  We will have our Community Health Nurse visiting the school for the next few Mondays to work with our Kindy and PrePrimary students.  This is an important initiative which supports the well-being of our youngest students.  Early health checks help identify any concerns in areas like hearing, vision, and development, ensuring that children receive the support they need to thrive in their learning journey.  By addressing potential issues early, we set our students up for success and provide them with the best possible schooling experiences.

Parish Mass:  Our Year 1students attended our parish Mass on Wed 19 March and were so engaged, showing great reverence and participation throughout the service.  It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and respect as they listened carefully during the Mass.  A special thank you to Fr Elver and our parish community for welcoming them so warmly!

P&F:  We held our second P&F meeting this week and it was a wonderful opportunity to engage and collaborate with this wonderful group.  Together, we can strengthen our school community by encouraging involvement and supporting our social and fundraising events. I look forward with anticipation to work alongside you all to make a positive impact.

Harmony Day: Harmony Day is a special time for us to come together and celebrate our diverse and inclusive community.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognize and appreciate many cultures that make our school so vibrant.  Through activities, discussions, and shared experiences, we embrace the message that “Everyone Belongs.” At Liwara we celebrate respect, inclusivity, and the strength that comes from our diversity!

Yr 2 Performance Assembly:  Our Year 2 students took to the stage for their performance assembly, and what a fantastic show they put on! Their confidence, enthusiasm, and hard work truly shone through, making it a memorable experience for everyone.  A big thank you to the teachers for their guidance and to the families who came along to support them.  Well done, Year 2!

Mainroads Update:  The garrison fencing running along the freeway will be completed by this Friday and the temporary fencing will be removed over the weekend.  Works to beautify the area along the bottom carpark has been going full steam ahead as the timeline for completion of the PSP is set for the end of March.

CLASSROOM NEWS

PRE PRIMARY NEWS

We have had a fantastic and busy start to the year! It has been wonderful watching the children settle into Pre-Primary and begin forming lovely friendships with one another.

We've enjoyed plenty of hands-on activities as we explore phonics, numbers, and 2D shapes in fun and engaging ways. A highlight this week has been the introduction of our new fantasy corner and dress-up costumes. There’s a bit of mystery around whose house it might be... perhaps it has something to do with a little rabbit.

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

YOUTH GROUP REPORT

TUESDAY, 18TH MARCH

Last week at 24:7 Greenwood, we had an incredible evening filled with fun, faith, and engaging activities. We also had the privilege of hosting our Youth Volunteer Mass at the 5:30pm Mass, where members of our leadership team and youth took on various roles throughout the liturgy. It was wonderful to see so many young people actively participating and connecting with the parish community.

The night began with board games and a lively game of dodgeball, setting the tone for an energetic and exciting evening. We then moved into our first group games: Dog ‘n’ Bone followed by an engaging round of Hide and Seek Pictionary.

Following the games, we had an insightful talk from one of our volunteer leaders, Eilidh, who explored the theme of Almsgiving. She shared the significance of giving—how it not only benefits those in need but also enriches our own hearts and deepens our faith

NEXT YOUTH GROUP

Our next 24:7 Greenwood Youth Group, we will continue exploring our Lenten theme with a deeper look at Almsgiving.  We are excited to welcome a guest speaker who will help us understand how we can actively contribute to charitable works within our church community.  It promises to be an inspiring and insightful session.
