CANTEEN
Our school canteen is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and offers a variety of healthy foods and drinks for recess and lunch. The canteen is staffed by volunteers under the direction of a part-time paid Canteen Manageress. Our Canteen relies on the help of parent volunteers. Please come along and have a try - you will be surprised how excited your child will be to see you in the Canteen!
Our menu is full of healthy choices and daily specials and it is revised on a regular basis we work together towards purchasing as little ready-made food as possible and making as much as we can on site. Each item on our menu is classified in accordance with the Star Choice Food Registration Program implemented in WA using the ‘Traffic Light’ coding system, recommended by the Canteen Association of Western Australia and the Department of Health WA.
Green Foods - These are foods that should be eaten every day and include things such as fresh fruits and vegetables, wholegrain breads and cereals, lean meat and fat-reduced dairy products. The majority of our menu is made up of these types of food.
Amber Foods - These are foods that should be served in smaller sizes and less frequently. Examples include reduced-fat icecream, frozen yoghurt, muffins, juice and dried fruits. We have some of these items on our menu, but in small serving sizes and in limited numbers.
Volunteers are always needed in the canteen and are highly valued by our school community. We would like to reward our volunteers for their much appreciated time and service to our school by giving them a complimentary lunch on their rostered day. Tuckshop volunteering is a fun, social activity and is a great way to make friends with other parents.
We need volunteers weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Even if you can only spare a couple of hours, we would be grateful for your time. Feel free to drop by the tuckshop and meet Deb and the friendly team of helpers anytime. We would appreciate your assistance from 9.00am until 12.00pm, or from 9.00am until 2.00pm, and you can volunteer for a few hours a week, a month or a term - all help is greatly appreciated. If you are able to assist in our Canteen please contact the canteen on 6224 2014
