PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
We come before you with hearts full of gratitude and joy. We thank you for the gift of teachers in our lives, who guide us with knowledge, patience and care.
Lord Jesus, You are the ultimate teacher, and you showed us the way of love, wisdom and understanding. We thank you for blessing us with educators who strive to reflect your teaching in their actions.
Holy Spirit, You inspire our teachers to impart not just facts, but also values that shape our character. We are grateful for their dedication and the countless hours they invest in nurturing our minds and spirits.
Bless our teachers, O God, Grant them strength and wisdom as they continue to guide us on our journey of learning. May their efforts bear fruit in the lives of all they touch. May our gratitude extend beyond words and may we strive to be good students, receptive to their guidance and diligent in our studies. We offer this prayer in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers
We have had an extremely busy week filled with some wonderful events and activities. Our P&F started the weekend with their fun filled and very well supported Musical Quiz night. Special thanks to everyone who played a part in another successful fundraising event: The planners; thinkers; prize gathers; online auctioneers; bar tenders; prize donators; hall decorating crew; designers; try booking coordinator and all our families who supported the event on the night. On behalf of the students and staff I would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to everyone who put in an extraordinary effort to raise funds for our beautiful Liwara school community.
UPDATE ON SCHOOL OVAL
The oval is starting to look just great! The refurbishment process has breathed new life into every corner of the oval that we utilise as a school and the turf is starting to push it’s way through, though the mowing was put off on Thursday, as it still has a way to grow before being cut.
VISIBLE WELLBEING WEEK
A big thank you goes out to our Visible Wellbeing Team for planning our special VWB week. During the week the student get NO homework! And each day there was a theme for all classes to get involved with. Each term we hold a VWB week to create a culture of well-being within the school community, promote open conversations about wellness and empower students with practical skills to enhance their overall well-being. We see it as a valuable and impactful initiative to support students in their personal and academic growth. Keep an eye out for the photo montage showing all the fun that we've had this week on our school Facebook page.
MONDAY - ‘Make it comfy Monday’ where the entire school community were invited to wear their PJs to school.
TUESDAY – ‘Thinking Tuesday’ was filled with brain teasers and puzzles for classes to enjoy.
WEDNESDAY – ‘Wacky Wednesday’- children were encouraged to read a silly book
THURSDAY – ‘Thankful Thursday’ where all were encouraged to appreciate one another and write a special note for those around us. Our staff prayer, prepared by Mrs McGavigan and shared with us all from her sick bed focussed on Wellness and Thanks
FRIDAY – ‘Friendship Friday’ – buddy activities were the flavour of the day.
SCHOOL TOUR
We hosted our final school tour for the year with eight families from surrounding suburbs coming along to find out more about Liwara. Our Year 6 leaders played a prominent role in making all our visitors feel very welcome as they escorted them up to the Early Learning Centre where we began the tour. We were certainly blessed with a beautiful day to showcase our school. A sincere thankyou to Mrs Karen Rosser, our Enrolment Officer, who coordinated the event.

ONE BIG VOICE
On Friday, Mr Marco Cilli, Mrs Andrea Rattray & Mrs Tracy Pearce accompanied a group of 34 of our students to the Perth Arena to join almost 3,500 other students to celebrate in joyous affirmation of the life changing power of song. One Big Voice is Australia’s largest children’s choir open to all schools, public or private (Years 3-7) and culminates annually in 2 massive concerts. It is definitely an unforgettable experience when students participate in a non-competitive massed choir, building musical confidence in teachers and bringing the pure joy of singing and music to their students. The magic of thousands of children singing in harmony has to be experienced to be believed! Miss Leddin and I joined a group of our parents and caregivers at the Arena to enjoy the experience with our talented children. A big thank you to our students for their wonderful participation and Mr Cilli for all the preparation in teaching the children the songs and actions. Congratulations, to all our One Big Voice participants.
ABSENTEES
A reminder to all parents and caregivers that all absentees require a written explanation, this is a Department of Education requirement. If you phone and advise that your child is absent you will still need to follow it up with an absentee note. The most convenient way to advise us that your child is absent is to complete the online absentee form located on our school website - https://www.liwara.wa.edu.au/absentee-notice/. If we have not received notification of your child's absence by 9.30am you will receive an SMS asking you to explain the absence.
