MAY PRAYER
MAY the sun bring you new energy by day;
MAY the moon softly restore you by night.
MAY the rain wash away your worries;
MAY the breeze blow new strength into your being.
MAY you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.
MAY you call on the love of Mary our Mother, as our loving protector, to guide you in these uncertain days.
AMEN
May you add the words above into your prayers each day in this month of MAY

Dear Parents and Caregivers
I trust that you have had a relaxing and quiet holiday break. Although different from most other holidays, my hope is that all families enjoyed quality time together finding joy in the company of one another.
Thank you for your support at the end of last term as we transitioned to a period of at home - online learning. We commenced this term in the same mode of learning for all students. Whether learning at home or at school, I wish every Liwara student a happy, fun-filled and exciting term of learning.
Parents and caregivers, if your child is working from home, and you haven't already received a phone call from their teacher, you will be getting one next week to speak to your child, with a parent present, on speaker phone, to check in and see how they have been going with their online learning platform as well as hearing about some of the fun family activities they have been involved with. However, if you need to contact the teacher prior to the call please do not hesitate to make contact via email or phone.
We look forward to when we can all be back together at school again, but in the meantime, our aim is to support all students and families by respecting the choice of individual families and by providing a quality learning program for all students, regardless of where the learning is occurring.
Wishing you a multitude of God's blessings
Andrea Millar
Liwara Families Respond Generously
A few weeks ago your local Greenwood SVdP (Vinnies) Conference appealed to the Liwara Community, and other local communities, for donations of food and other non-perishable items. The response from Liwara families, and beyond, was amazing, way beyond our expectations and again demonstrated your enormous generosity in supporting people in need.
During a period of eight hours over the past two Saturdays we unloaded food and other essentials from the boots of more than two hundred cars plus many other donors dropped off their contributions to the homes of our members. The impact on our pantry stocks was huge as can be seen from the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos below which were taken after the first week of the appeal.
We have already started distributing the resulting food hampers to people who have contacted the Vinnies Call Centre (1300 794 054) seeking emergency relief. Your donations will allow us to assist hundreds of families in our area over the next few months. On behalf of those families we thank you for your generosity and willingness to share, particularly in these very challenging health and economic times.
Vinnies is available to support all who need emergency relief, including Liwara families. This assistance includes food and other essentials plus financial support with utilities and other expenses, in emergency situations. Please contact either the Call Centre on 1300 794 054 or me directly on 0404 248 332.
Thanks again for your ongoing support of Vinnies.
Gerard Coyte
Greenwood Conference President.

EASTER RAFFLE – POSTPONED
Firstly, thank you to all the contributors to and the organisers of the Easter Raffle. Your generosity and community spirit, in such trying circumstances, are what Liwara School Community is all about.
Sadly with the latest changes to the operations of the school we have decided to postpone the drawing of the Easter Raffle. All tickets that have been sold will be retained for a future Raffle with a similar theme (namely chocolate).
Please hold on to your current tickets and donations. Once we have a clear indication of the plans for next term, we will relaunch the raffle and communicate new timings/details. Lastly I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Easter break.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free you call me direct on 0491 148 893
Thank you
