FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Winter Carnival
Our Year 6, and also some Year 5 students, participated in the Winter Sports Carnival at Kingsway Sporting Complex on Thursday, 30 May. It was wonderful to pop down and visit them to see their happy and wet faces! They really enjoyed the day and it is always pleasing to see and hear the good sportsmanship our students show each other and other schools. Thank you to Mr Sanders, Mrs McGavigan, Mr Varady and many parents for coaching our teams and getting wet!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to two of our Year 6 students Ethan and Elijah who are selected to represent Western Australia at the National Little League Baseball Championships to be held in New South Wales in June. We wish them all the best and can’t wait to hear all about it!
Mid Year Reports
Students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 will receive their Mid Year Report at the end of this term. This report outlines their achievement and effort on the content covered so far this year. New students to the school should have received a welcome email to sign up to SEQTA Engage. If you are not sure, please contact the Office. The reports will be available via SEQTA Engage approximately 3:30pm on Friday, 21 June.
Pre Kindy and Kindergarten Enrolments 2025
We are busy conducting enrolment interviews for children who are eligible for Pre Kindy and Kindy in 2025. We are also interviewing siblings of families who are already enrolled at the school. Please ensure you have completed an Enrolment Form for any younger siblings to book in their place at our wonderful school. Please contact Mrs Stent in the Office if you have any questions.
It is a delight to meet families who are new to Liwara, including some ex students who are now enrolling their own children. It is also wonderful to meet many younger siblings as I see them around the school already! I really enjoy showing the families around our beautiful school and popping into classrooms to see all the hard work that is going on and the enjoyment shown by the students meeting our new families.
End of Term dates
Please note that Term Two concludes for students on Wednesday, 26 June. Thursday, 27 and Friday, 28 June are Pupil Free Days.
ENROLMENTS FOR CHILDREN IN KINDY 2025/2026 AND PRE KINDY 2025/2026
We currently have a limited number of vacancies for Kindy 2024, I urge you to contact our Enrolment Officer, as soon as possible, to discuss the enrolment process. I am currently meeting with future and current parents for our 2025 Kindy and Pre Kindy placements. Enrolment information and applications can be downloaded from our school website HERE or a paper copy can be collected from the school office.
Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend celebrating Western Australia Day. Until our next edition, take care and stay inspired!

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
YOUTH GROUP REPORT
We had another exciting night at 24:7 Greenwood last Sunday. We began the night with some fun games including balloon challenges and memory races. We then went into our talk with youth minister, Jasmine Deib, as our guest speaker who broke open the topic of Mother Mary to us. We looked at Mary’s role in the Church and why she is important to us in our Catholic faith. We explored, and will continue to explore how we can have a personal relationship with Mary, and will also be given the opportunity to defend her vital role in our faith next week as Defenders of the Faith. Overall, it was another great night where we could come together in a joyful and supportive community.
NEXT YOUTH GROUP
Next youth group on the 2nd June, we have the opportunity to further explore our term theme, Defenders of the Faith. We have one of our student leaders sharing about their personal relationship with Mary and why she is important to their faith. Then we will break open the topic further by using resources to trying to defend Mary’s importance to us.
